emotive wins Gold for Rare Disease Campaign

emotive has won Gold at the 10th PM Society Digital Awards for the Spot the Rare disease awareness campaign developed with Rare Disease UK. The team collected their Gold trophy at the awards ceremony at the Brewery in London along with Jayne Spink from Genetic Alliance UK. The campaign won in a new category that recognises the best digital work developed for a healthcare charity and is judged on both creativity and effectiveness. We are so happy for the team at emotive and Rare Disease UK that developed this successful campaign and it’s fitting to be celebrating this on Jeans for Genes day.

The PM Society Digital Awards recognise and reward excellence in digital communications within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. The judging is in two stages, with the second round requiring a presentation to a panel of judges drawn from pharma and agency backgrounds. The judges said of this campaign

The Spot the Rare campaign was something very different for Rare Disease UK, a simple and engaging social media campaign to convey some key messages to the public. We were impressed with the creativity and effectiveness.”

emotive were delighted to work with Rare Disease UK on the development of this creative campaign targeted at the general public. With 1 in 17 of the UK population affected by a rare disease at some point in their lives, Rare Disease UK advocates on behalf of those approximately 3.5 million people to drive better access to appropriate care and treatment. As part of their ten-year anniversary, a new approach for 2018 was a public awareness campaign that would highlight the large, and often hidden, scale and impact of rare diseases and energise the public to discover more about rare diseases. The Spot the Rare campaign was one of a number of initiatives that year.
