It’s Halloween and emotive has celebrated once again by holding our annual pumpkin carving competition!
This year we celebrated a day early to coincide with our October Mashup, where the team recognised their successes with international meetings and projects delivered for clients this month. We also celebrated several emotiversaries, including Senior Medical Copywriter Aaron’s four-year anniversary. Just one year to go until he earns his 6-week sabbatical!
With announcements (and team presentations) out the way, it was time to start the Halloween festivities. With the imminent opening of our US office in Boston, Massachusetts, it was fitting to go big… with an American-inspired twist! The emotive Social Club had been hard at work transforming the office with decorations, spider webs and hanging bats. There were bumper crops of trick or treat sweets (even specially branded emotive sweets!) as well as a line-up of large pumpkins and orange Aperol flavoured drinks, all ready for the much-awaited carving competition.
With competitive spirits running high and pumpkin flesh quite literally flying, ambitious creations were attempted as teams spread across the office to work on their masterpieces: there was a Donald Trumpkin, a banana-haired Pumpkin Minister, some pumpkins had a face…. others didn’t. All in all, there was a lot of creativity, and mess!
The team cast their votes by posting sticky notes on their favourite pumpkin. There were shouts of joy and squeals of dismay as the winning pumpkin swapped as the team cast their decision. In the end, it was Creative Director Rob and Medical Copy Writer Talia’s orange-munching pumpkin that came out as the winner. A truly terrifying and well-crafted piece of work!
