What are you responsible for?
Ensuring everything within my accounts runs smoothly both internally and externally. In fewer words, listening and problem-solving.
Talk me through your typical day.
There isn’t a typical day ever! I could be doing anything: finding a last-minute videographer for a job overseas, dealing with time-sensitive client issues, giving training and appraisals to the team or brainstorming creative work.
Really the only main thing that remains the same is that most of my time is spent talking to people – which is a primary factor as to why I chose this career.
Describe a favourite project you’ve worked on.
I tend to prefer more creatively driven projects but enjoy any project where we get to surprise and delight the client, leading to positive feedback for the team.
Pitching is also great fun. It’s really different from all of the other work I do, and it forces the core team to work together really closely. I find it always brings out the best in people, you get an adrenaline boost and a real sense of achievement by the end. A bonus if the outcome is a win…
What do you love most about your job at emotive?
Honestly, it’s the people. They’re all really hard-working and passionate about what they do. Our clients seem to agree – and one of my favourite parts of the job is hearing them give praise to specific members of the team during a project, that never gets old.
What three words would you use to describe your job?
Crazy, reactive, heart-warming.
Who has been the most influential person in your life to date?
It has to be David Attenborough. An absolute legend, engaging, a great communicator. It’s amazing how in-touch he is, breaking down barriers and at the forefront of environmental issues, even at the age of 93. When I was younger, I wanted to marry him. I’ve met him twice and shook his hand at a Natural History Museum event whilst I was at university, dream come true.
What has been the most fun you’ve had during your time at emotive?
It’s a fun place in general. The work can sometimes be challenging, but I think the sense of humour and comradery amongst the team prevents things from getting too stressful.
What would your favourite sandwich?
Controversially, I don’t like sandwiches. I’d rather eat the filling and the bread separately.
I never met a cheese I didn’t like though, so you’d be safe with that.
