Following an annual tradition, emotive held pitches for the Team Charity at their Christmas party, during which each member of the team was given 30 seconds to pitch a charity to be supported in 2016. A total of 24 charities were put forward and vigorously defended, including Crisis, Alzheimer’s Society, Stroke Association, War Child, Orangutan Foundation, Age UK, Solar Aid, and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. The team then voted for the most worthwhile of the charities, which would receive a donation from each member of the team, as well as ongoing support throughout the coming year.
The winner, The Brain Tumour Charity, is the UK’s largest charitable foundation dedicated to fighting brain tumours. Battling the disease on all fronts, the charity raises disease awareness, funds pioneering research to increase survival rates, and provides support and information to improve quality of life. Its vision is a world where brain tumours are defeated and the diagnosis of a brain tumour is no longer a death sentence.
