We’re well into 2019 and with Q1 complete, the year is shaping up to be one of our busiest yet. With two exciting new EMEA and Global accounts added in Rare Disease and Advanced Therapies along with expanding existing client work, emotive is delighted to welcome five new recruits to the team.

Last month, Kate Wagstaff and Fiona Jones joined our rapidly growing Client Services team as Senior and Junior Account Executives respectively, responsible for liaising with clients as well as our internal medical and creative teams to ensure the smooth running of all projects. Kate joins us with a background in healthcare PR where she fostered a strong understanding of healthcare communications for a range of key stakeholder groups. She has a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Management.

Fiona has a BSc in Medical Physics which involved studying subjects such as Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and Medical Imaging techniques and wrote her dissertation in Ultrasound diagnostics. During her studies Fiona interned with creative agencies M&C Saatchi and Brothers&Sisters, equipping her with a strong foundation in client services. She also worked for a year in a marketing role before her move to emotive.

Most recently, emotive welcomed Dorothy Overington to our Medical Writing team as a Senior Medical Writer. Dorothy started her career with an internship at imc before finishing her PhD in Neuroscience at UCL in 2013. Upon graduation, she moved into a medical writing role at imc and was responsible for delivering a range of medical education initiatives – from scientific exchange meetings to digital assets. Not only does Dorothy bring with her solid experience in diabetes, CVRM, respiratory and nutrition, she expands emotive’s wide language repertoire to include Mandarin Chinese.

Coming from a traditional med ed background, I’m excited to think outside the box and allow my creative side to flourish at emotive, and really make a difference to the treatment of rare diseases.” said Dorothy at the end of her second day with us.

emotive has also been busy expanding our Operations team; welcoming Gemma Sawyer and Georgia Ioannou. Georgia moved to the UK in 2008 from Athens to complete her BSc in Accounting and Finance and gained international experience working in IT alongside the Finance Director to look after financial operations in four countries. Most recently, Georgia held the role of Management Accountant in a Design Thinking agency, before joining emotive’s growing finance team this year as a Finance Manager.

Finally, we welcome Gemma as Talent Manager. As the agency continues to grow apace, Gemma will support the HR team as an in-house resource to attract and develop the amazing emotive talent. She brings with her an impressive eight years of experience within the Pharma and Life Sciences sector, spanning employer branding, talent development, employee law and engagement. She also holds a level 5 CIPD in HR management achieved during her time at Novo Nordisk
